HIS LITTLE FLOCK

When winter is over, something changes in our daily lives. There is more light and spring arrives. The season of hope.
Hope for a new beginning in which growth can take place. Hope for restoration, healing, or acceptance of how things are. It is also the period in which we, as Christians, approach Easter. We then commemorate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

John 12:44-48

‘Jesus had said loud and clear: Whoever believes in Me believes not in Me, but in Him who sent Me.

I am the Light that came into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me may no longer be in darkness.

If anyone hears My words but does not keep them, I will not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

Whoever rejects Me and does not accept My words already has a judge:
everything I have said will judge him on the last day.’

In the book of John, the Lord Jesus also gives Himself other names such as ‘the true vine’ and ‘the good shepherd’. With these names, He wants to make clear to us who He is and what He wants to give us, namely redemption and forgiveness of our sins so that we may belong to Him. Whoever we are and wherever we are… we are all welcome with the Lord Jesus.

The only thing you have to do to be allowed to belong to Him is to ask Him:

Lord Jesus, will You forgive me? May I belong to You? Will You take away my sins? I can’t do it alone anymore, will You help me?
Amen.

That is it. Acknowledging that you can no longer bear it alone and that you no longer want to be alone. Surrendering to the Lord Jesus is surrendering to God.

Workbook

• Are there things you cannot forgive yourself for?

• Are there things you constantly feel guilty about?

• Are there thoughts and/or emotions standing between you and God?

• Are there things in your life that need to be ‘brought into the Light’ so that you can come close to God again?

Write down all the answers and find a place where you can be alone. Then read everything aloud to the Lord Jesus. Let all your emotions come… it is okay because the Lord Jesus already knows your heart anyway. When you are finished, you can end with a short prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me.
Protect me, lead me, and deliver me from evil.
Lord, I praise Your Holy Name,
Amen
